The Vitrine — Evidence

  1. Quotation01

The thesis, vinyl-cut at the entrance

History arrives as evidence. Mythology arrives as interior decorating. The walls don't move. The frame does.

  2. Primary document02

The hazard placard, as installed — rotated 1.4°

Please do not touch the paint while it's still drying.

Wall LabelAs authorized

The Museum of Truth opens with a single gesture: a wall, freshly finished, dedicated to the careful preservation of the historical record. The institution exists to authenticate — to give each artifact its label, its date, its rightful place in the national story.

The visitor is invited to trust the room. The walls are sound. The lighting is even. Everything has been considered.

Conservation Notes

  1. 01
    Placement

Hung at the entrance, where a visitor decides whether a wall is a fact or a surface.

  2. 02
    Layering

A mission statement applied over an empty room; the room shows through wherever the statement thins.

  3. 03
    Integration

Label and wall were manufactured together. There is no original underneath — only the coat you are reading.

Provenance

Commissioned by the Museum of Truth for its own threshold. Donor: the institution itself.
